Laurie and Matt wanted to do their engagement session at some of their favorite local spots in Prospect Park & Park Slope Brooklyn. We spent some time at Prospect Park, then maneuvered our way over to one of Laurie's favorite bars. It's always so great to be able to go to more comfortable spots and capture people at places where they feel the most at home. I’m so thankful I am able to be their New york city wedding photographer and I will be photographing their wedding at the Green Building in Brooklyn in a couple of months! Here are some of my favorite shots from the session:
A Rainy Brooklyn Promenade New York City Elopement
This was definitely one of the most interesting elopements I've ever done. Shot entirely in the pouring rain! Jackie and Aaron are from LA, California (Peep the LOVE LA street sign in one of these shots later) and their parents were flying in to NYC to witness their union. Although the forecast had rain at 100%, their parents were only going to be in town this weekend - so we knew it was going to happen- rain or shine! We met at the Brooklyn Promenade; the officiant all ready, and everyone had armed with umbrellas! I was able to capture their adorable elopement in the rain, surrounded by their family and friends and it was AWESOME! It was whimsical, romantic, fast paced and definitely the kind of day you'd remember!! Despite the weather, there was a gorgeous backdrop and a lot less people walking around the park (which was really helpful!!) Jackie and Aaron were all up for everything!! Their upbeat spirit and willingness to get amazing shots DEFINITELY made it all worth it!! I had so much fun with them and was so thankful that despite some unforeseen circumstances- they were still able to have fun and enjoy their day!!! Photographing in New York, you really never know what you’re going to get! I was super excited to blog this New York City elopement and hope you guys will enjoy it too!! #iLOVENY !!
Gowanus, Brooklyn & Soho Engagement Session in New York City
I got another chance to photograph around Gowanus, Brooklyn and Soho with Nick and Kimberly. Nick loved the industrial and edgy look of their neighborhood and Kimberly liked the polished and chic look of Soho (where they work). So we were able to combine their personalities into their engagement session and hit up both areas! It was such a great time because they allowed me to be creative and free with them and we found some really amazing spaces to photograph at. It’s so awesome to be able to capture these photographs for them for the future!! It was also awesome because one of these shots was featured in the New York Times!! I am so thankful they chose me to be their new york city wedding photographer!! They will be getting married in California next year! Here are some of my favorite shots!
ROCK CLIMBING Engagement Photos! A Brooklyn Cliffs Rock climbing Engagement Session At Brooklyn Bridge Park
David and Eliza used to spend a bit of time rock climbing together when they first met... so it was really awesome when David suggested doing some photos at The CLIFFS at DUMBO !!!! I've always seen this place whenever I passed by shooting but never got to go in (I personally do not climb.. but am always around people or the places TO climb... my office is 2 blocks from the The Cliffs at LIC >_<) But anyways, I jumped at the idea- since I haven't done a shot with a couple rock climbing yet!! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! We got some REALLY cool shots of them hanging off the rocks and sprawling about.. then finished off the rest of the session nearby Brooklyn Bridge Park. It was such a unique session in new york city. Here are some of my favorite shots: (PS: If you want to see David & Eliza's wedding day, here's the blog post for that!)
