These two amazing New York City chefs wanted to have an engagement photography session that would capture their personalities and their loves... for each other and for delicious food. They began with sharing dim sum with one another as a starter, then Ryan's famous beef noodle soup. They topped it off with some chocolate souffles ... which tasted... amazing. And yes... as the photographer I got to try some of the food.. hehe! It was really fun working with these two and we got some amazing shots in the process! I love doing things differently and trying new ideas- so much diversity and customs to experience as a New York City wedding photographer!! Here are some of my favorite shots from the session:
A Sparta, New Jersey Wedding
Everything about this wedding was so adorable!! Their venue, the Mohawk House was amazing! It was a cute space with a western american flare. Never knew such an adorable space existed in New Jersey! I mean I LOVE New York City and New York City Weddings, but it’s always so nice to get out of my typical space and see what’s beyond!! Behind the space, there was an beautiful view of mountains. It was perfect. Tons of gorgeous daylight and had a very hip decor. I love Jane and Ki Won- they are such an amazing and hospitable couple. The wedding started with a ton of rain in the morning.. but the moment we got to the pier to do their first look, the sky cleared- it was a HUGE blessing. We were able to get amazing photographs!! The wedding ceremony was very touching and the people and family they had surrounding them really lit up the reception. It was beautiful to be a part of such a diverse and beautiful group of people. Maybe I should now say, I love being a New York and New Jersey Wedding photographer - ahahah!! Here are just some highlights from the big day:
A Snowy New York City Wedding Proposal in Long Island City Gantry State Park
Andrew had been planning his proposal to Stella for a few weeks. He had chosen the location, had the ring, had the plan and was ready to go! But never would he had thought that it would snow the day before the proposal. The ground was full of fresh snow and another storm was rolling in soon... so he knew he had to move quick. Andrew put together the final touches on the scrapbook he made for Stella and practiced the song that he would sing to accompany her as she looked through the book. He was going to sing about their 12 dates, but to the tune of "The 12 Days of Christmas". It was really a sweet!! We all huddled together, a group of his friends and I, hiding in the bathroom nearby the spot where he would propose overlooking the New York City Skyline at Gantry State Park. His friends cracked jokes, calmed him down and encouraged him about his exciting future with Stella. It was a lot of fun!! Then Andrew got the call, Stella was on her way to meet him! So Andrew hurried over and the show began...
It was so touching to see them get engaged and also have their backdrop with friends, family and New York City! Afterwards they went to go celebrate :D
A New York City Central Park and Upper West Side Engagement Photography Session
Meet Teresa and Lam! They flew all the way from LA, California to work with me on an engagement session in the great New York City!! It was really awesome-- I FOUND THE BUBBLE MAN in Central Park and we were able to work with them for some really cool shots! It was a very happy moment for me as a New York City Wedding photographer. I've always wanted to catch him in action during one of my shoots- and I finally did. It was really great working with Teresa and Lam- they were both so chill and fun to work with! After our time in Central Park, we went to Magnolia’s Bakery on the Upper West side of New York City to grab a small snack and finish up there.
