Nancy and Raymond wanted to do their engagement session somewhere a little different than most people.. so they wanted to go to Governor's island. It was my first time as a New York City wedding photographer going to Governor’s Island to do a engagement photo session. Governor's island is actually ONLY open during the Summer months of NYC and often have different art exhibitions and other events every weekend in the Summer. It was definitely a really great idea to go there to do the photoshoot! We also got SUPER lucky, because we picked the final day that the island was open and it was a little chilly, so it was deserted and we had the whole island to ourselves! Im so glad they chose me to be their nyc wedding photographer! I’m looking forward to their wedding next year! Here are some of my favorites:
Soho and Downtown Manhattan Engagement Session in New York City
Jennifer and Angelo wanted to have their engagement session begin in their apartment where they call home in new york city. Then venture out nearby all around soho to photograph around their neighborhood. We popped some champagne to start of their session and had a blast with some of the most gorgeous backdrops downtown Manhattan can offer! It was such a blast to be able to photograph their engagement session and I also had the pleasure to photograph their new york city wedding in the fall! I’m so thankful they chose me to be their new york city wedding photographer!! Check out some highlights of their session:
South Street Seaport and El Luchador Tacos Engagement Session in New York City
Jenny and Tim live nearby South Street seaport, so they wanted to do their session down there, eat some tacos at one of their fav spots and walk around Battery Gardens-- oh and bring along their (big) pup, Rosie for the shoot! It was such a fun time walking around with them, trying to include Rosie in some shots and getting to know them! I loved that we got to eat some tacos at El Luchador!! Their tacos are so delicious!! I always love combining food into my engagement and wedding sessions- which is what makes it so great to live in NYC and be a new york city wedding photographer!! I’ll be shooting their wedding next year and it’s going to be exciting! Here are some of my favorites:
A New York City Wedding at the Standard Hotel in Chelsea and Locanda Verde in Tribeca
It's a bit nippy in January, but 1/23 was a special date to Melanie and Matt. The day began at the Standard Hotel in Chelsea, New York City, then had their intimate ceremony at St Peter’s Church | Our Lady of the Rosary downtown in battery city. They chose a really cute little restaurant named Locanda Verde (Which the FOOD IS AMAZING) in Greenwich for their reception and had a really awesome laid back party. It was truly such an amazing day!! Everyone was excited and happy for the couple ..and had been waiting years for this day to come! Every detail of the day was a perfect addition, her gorgeous dress from BHLDN, the florals, the bridesmaids gifts - cozy shawls for the outdoor photos =P -- everything couldn't have been more perfect! It was the definition of a New York City Wedding! It’s always so wonderful to be able to capture such a diverse crowd with the union of this multi-cultural couple! Loved it!
