Diana and Ed are having their huge wedding celebration in November... but before all of that glitz, Diana wanted to do something special for herself and Ed. Knowing that the wedding day was going to be hectic and filled with hosting guests and family... she decided to get hitched at the New York City Hall Wedding with Ed. It was such a great idea, and definitely stripped down all the craziness of a wedding to a moment where the two could really experience the moment with each other fully. It’s always nice to have a quiet elopement, and intimate wedding to share their vows together inside the New York City Hall. These two are super crazy and fun to be around, and these photos really encapsulate their personalities and wit. Enjoy!!
New York City to Puerto Rico - A Destination Wedding with Floating Lanterns
I was given the amazing opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico early this May to photograph a beautiful couple in the mountains of Puerto Rico. What a journey! It was a beautiful location, tucked away and hidden in the mountains. It was called the Hacienda Siesta Alegre, located in Rio Grande, PR. Gorgeous mountains, beautiful weather and views surrounded us at every turn. It's a bit funny when Ivy and Joe explained how they found this place; Joe found it first and suggested it to Ivy.. but Ivy wasn't a fan of the spot (the website doesn't do it any justice!), but when she was doing some more wedding research, she ended up finding a beautiful location in wedding magazine - then realized it was the same spot that Joe had suggested! She was floored at how beautiful the space was- so they booked it! Good find for Joe! When they planned this destination wedding, they figured the guest list would be small.. but the abundance of guests and family that showed up was overflowing and it was so amazing to see so many people that genuinely wanted to be there for this couple and celebrate with them! It was touching to see the kind of relationships that flowed between everyone. Everyone was so HAPPY to be there and it was so apparent. It was a gorgeous ceremony, heart-felt vows and just moments you can't create without the palpable love that was in the air. I was blessed and honored to be a part of such a joyful occasion and felt so accepted by their family and friends. It was such a nice place to get married and definitely was different from your typical New York City Wedding! Seriously had an amazing time photographing the wedding (and vacationing afterwards, hehe!)
Here are some highlight shots from the weekend:
Day 1; After - Rehearsal Party / Rooftop lounge and lighting floating Lanterns afterwards! I experienced my first "Tangled" moment!
And here begins their wedding day:
Hudson Valley New York Wedding with Self Brewed Craft Beers
On a gorgeous March morning, I drove up to Hudson Valley, NY (about a 2 hour drive from New York City) to witness the wedding of Angela and Josh. The officiant shared a very humorous story about their first meeting. (I am still unsure if this is 100% truth, but sounds true enough to me!) Both Josh and Angela worked at a High School, Josh as a music teacher (and moonlights as a bassist in a band) and Angela (a talented painter and a woman with great taste in everything (including her photographer- haha), as the "new girl" in the administration office. Josh walks into the office, probably in need of something, sees Angela... and then walks straight out. In short, he was probably blown away by her beauty. Few months later, they play together on the school softball team and ta-da, began their relationship. They both live in Brooklyn but wanted to have their wedding in Hudson Valley since it’s a gorgeous and quaint city away from New York City! Here are some highlights of their wedding day! :)
A Brooklyn Wedding in New York City
Melissa and Andy really knocked it out of the park with one of the most well-oiled and planned wedding I've shot to date. We started the day early in the morning where the girls got ready at Melissa's apartment in the lower east side. Soon after, we headed over to South Street Seaport to grab some photos. It was especially great since it was early and not a single soul/tourist was around and we had the whole area to ourselves. They then had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Brooklyn with a western style reception afterwards... following after that with another Chinese Banquet right after! It might have been a long day, but Melissa, Andy and their whole party was really awesome to be around!! It was a lot of fun to run around all over New York City as their new york city wedding photographer! Here are some of my favorites from the day:
