Where to Buy Cute Masks for your Wedding, Engagement or Elopement Shoot
WELCOME TO 2020!
As a born and raised NYC native, I can say with complete confidence- that have been through THE toughest few months of our lives. Corona Virus is so real.. and the only way to really combat or minimize the spread is to #WEARAMASK. Since NYC has mandated this, our cases have gone down significantly and we have flattened the curve. YESTERDAY, JULY 13th, 2020- we finally had our FIRST DAY in 136 days of this pandemic that we finally had our first 0 count deaths related to corona virus. WOW. I’m actually tearing. It’s quite a feat and from all the fear, anger, frustration that has been rampant these past few months, this is beautiful news.
With that being said, while we are at different phases of reopening our city in effect, it is even MORE crucial to wear a mask, socially distance, and stay safe! I’ve been super excited with the reopenings and super excited that people in New York City can again have small, intimate weddings and elopements again! HOORAY!! With that being said, a lot of people have been asking me for recommendations for face masks for their wedding day- so I decided to compile this great list to help you guys in finding what masks would work for you on your day— AND if you are a wedding guest, here are some great ideas for you to wear something chic and cute to the wedding! (these are in no particular order - so they are all great finds and it’s all depending on what style you personally like!)

For every pack purchased, Jonathan Simkhai will donate a civilian mask to local front-line essential workers in need of non-medical mask protection. Each pack of two (2) contains one mask in each of the following colors: pacific floral print and lilac floral print. These masks are a linen/synthetic/stretch blend and should be washed before first use.

Each one is crafted from leftover fabric scraps, which means every color is a limited edition.

My thoughts: Really FUN, bright and bold colors with interesting color blocking!
From their website: Help protect others and yourself. Our 3-pack of reusable, non-medical face masks are machine washable and made from 100% Kona Quilter’s Cotton. We chose quilter’s cotton because its tight weave and thick thread are effective at blocking respiratory droplets while remaining breathable and comfortable to wear. With proper care, these masks can be used over and over again. An adjustable strap and nose wire ensure a comfortable fit for most adults, and there is a pocket for a filter insert (not included). For every pack of masks sold, we’re donating a pack of surgical masks to healthcare workers.

My thoughts: Love the designs and donation idea to help No Kid Hungry.
From their website: We heard our community’s call for everyday cloth masks—so we teamed up with our Chicago-based textile factory partner to bring our very own version to the Shop. What’s more, 10% of the retail price will go to No Kid Hungry. No Kid Hungry is helping feed kids throughout the U.S. during the coronavirus pandemic—through emergency grants to schools and community groups, outreach to low-income families, and advocating for policies that help feed more kids. This donation helps kids get the meals they need, now and in the months to come. We took on this project not only to be there for you when you need it most and donate to a great cause, but also to support the factory’s sewing team, who are facing job uncertainty due to widespread closures and canceled orders.
